PRIVACY POLICY

How we collect, use and protect the information you share with us.

1. Who we are

Masterminds Africa is an African youth intellectual and academic competition organisation. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and how we use it.

2. Information we collect

School registrations: school name, country, city, school type, contact person, email address, phone number, competition interest and the number of students.

Enquiries: your name, email address, subject and message.

Basic technical information such as pages visited, which is used only to keep the site working and improve it.

3. How we use your information

To respond to enquiries and process school registrations.

To share competition dates, rules, results and other event information with registered schools.

To publish results and rankings where a school or team has taken part in a competition.

4. Legal basis and consent

We process the information you submit on the basis of your request to take part or to be contacted. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

5. Students and minors

Participants are registered through their schools. Schools are responsible for obtaining consent from parents or guardians before submitting details relating to learners under 18.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through this website.

6. Photography and media

Photographs and video may be captured at competitions and used on this website and on our social channels to showcase the events. Schools may ask us in writing to exclude a specific participant from published media.

7. Sharing your information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with our own team, the service providers that host this website and our database, and only where necessary to run a competition or where the law requires it.

8. Storage and security

Submissions are stored in a secured, access-controlled database. Only approved administrators can view registrations and messages, and access is protected by individual accounts.

9. Retention

We keep registration and enquiry records for as long as needed to run our competitions and maintain historical results, after which they are deleted on request or when no longer needed.

10. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you submitted, and you may ask us to stop contacting you. Email us and we will respond.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the organisation grows. The latest version will always appear on this page.
